Drumnahough Wind Farm in County Donegal is an onshore wind project being constructed by co-development partners SSE Renewables and FuturEnergy Ireland. Completion of the wind farm will represent a €120 million investment by the project partners, delivery of which is led by SSE.
Drumnahough Wind Farm will be constructed in rural upland Donegal, 13km from Letterkenny and in the townlands of Treankeel, Meenadaura, Carrickalangan and Cark.
The 58MW project will comprise 12 wind turbines and is located adjacent to the SSE’s operational Culliagh, Meentycat and Lenalea wind farms.
Construction works commenced on Drumnahough Wind Farm in January 2026. Two public information events were held in Ballybofey and Newmills in December 2025 to allow the local community and businesses learn more about the construction phase of the project.
Throughout the construction phase, regular updates will be sent to near neighbours and other community stakeholders through issuing of letters and newsletters.
