Subject to planning approval, it is expected that construction work on the wind farm will commence in summer 2023 and that it will be fully operational in late 2024.

During the construction phase Drumnahough will employ up to 60 full time jobs. 2 permanent jobs will also be created after the wind farm has been completed.

Community Benefits

Drumnhough will provide a community benefit each year. SSE and Coillte would love to hear your thoughts on this. Please get in touch through the contact form with your ideas!

The Community Fund

SSE and Coillte are proud to have contributed over €8.3 million in funding since 2008 to communities close to our wind farms in Ireland. This funding has been able to assist more than 2,743 local projects, focused primarily on sustainability, energy efficiency and safety initiatives. The Community Fund is paid out annually, starting one year after the windfarm starts producing electricity.
